Running through the forest, looking for the bears!

Speaking English has become such an essential skill. From advertising to travel, to academic and professional work the ability to speak English has become an international passport. So what are important things to consider when choosing good English language courses? How do time, content, and location play a role in choosing the right

English language courses?

First, take a moment to consider time. How much time are you willing to invest in an English course? Is it realistic to plan an evening course or is there a need for a “quick fix” solution. Community courses are great for people who can devote a couple hours once or twice a week to learning English, but for many people this kind of time investment is not a possibility. If time is a challenge consider combining English courses with a holiday. Visit courses in the morning and leave the afternoon and evening free for rest and relaxation.

Second, look up the course’s content and goals. Is the course orientated towards your language learning needs? Will the content be too general or too specific? How much emphasis is placed on speaking and general communication? English language courses come in all shapes and sizes so it’s important to find the “perfect fit”. International Projects offers a wide range of courses from beginning English to advanced university preparation.

Finally, choose an exciting location. Learning a language is all about motivation so it is important to make sure the location is interesting and has lots of activities to offer. Combing English language courses with a short vacation provides plenty of opportunities to check out tourist attractions and enjoy a break from the stress of everyday life.

So when it comes to picking the “right” English language course take the time to think about expectations in order to avoid any unwanted surprises.
